Having problems viewing this site? Here’s some helpful hints:
How come I have to scroll to the left and right to fully view the page?
When designing the site, we realized early on that we had a lot of information to fit into each page. We also knew that a majority of web surfers today are using computers with at least 17″ monitors, and more and more are using flat-panel LCD’s designed for higher resolutions.
For this reason, the site was designed at the default Windows screen resolution for most systems: 1024×768. If you see scroll bars forcing you to scroll left to right, it is because your display is set for 800×600. If your monitor is at least 17″ you may experience better visibility (here and elsewhere) by increasing your resolution to 1024×768 or 1280×1024, depending on your vision preferences.
On Windows systems, this setting can be changed by going to the Control Panel … choosing Display … and then selecting the Settings tab.
How come I am receiving a script error or other security warning… is this page safe?
This site uses Javascript to display various aspects of the site (including the navigation menus and the Verse of the Day). Therefore, your browser must be configured to allow Javascript to run. All scripts are completely safe on this site and will not harm your computer. If you receive a script error, it is *possible* that your browser is misconfigured. If you use Internet Explorer, you can click Tools … Internet Options … and choose the Security tab to reset your settings to the recommended default levels. In Firefox, similar settings can be found in the Tools’ Options menu on the Privacy and Security tabs.
