Children from kindergarten through grade 5 are invited to participate in a Lenten program for children titled His Story: The Life of Jesus.

Beginning March 7, each Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 a creative team from Gladden United Presbyterian will host an after school program which includes crafts, story telling, music and moments for mission. The focus is to teach children about other countries and how they live as we study how the message of God’s love transcends all cultures. Featured countries include: Mexico, Argentina, Guatemala, and Africa. A snack and meal will be provided each week.

As we lead up to Holy Week, the activities will include a number of surprises. On March 28, Toni Kellar from Roots to Rhythm will bring instrumentation for African drums as she teaches all participants the magic of drumming. Parents and community members are encouraged to participate this evening from 5:30 to 7:30. During that time, everyone will participate in the drum circle and share a meal. Pre-registration is required.

The last week of the program includes the creation of a life-size mural depicting the seven days leading up to the resurrection.

To register your child(ren), please call the church office at (412) 221-5594. There is no fee for participation.
